Dan Kuhlman

DAN KUHLMAN portrays Jimmy Grant, a failed criminal looking for his one way ticket to a new life.

Dan has been working throughout Chicago’s stage, film and improv scene for the past six years, following his graduation from Carnegie Mellon’s School of Drama in Pittsburgh. While still in the Steel City, he was seen as Lord Alfred Douglas in The City Theatre’s production of “Gross Indecency,” and as Claudio in Pittsburgh Public Theater’s “Measure for Measure.”

Upon moving to Chicago, he dove right into the City’s Theatre scene. His favorite credits include: Homer Wells in Famous Door’s multi-Jeff Award winning production of "The Cider House Rules: Parts I and II,” Julian in "The Misanthrope" and Todd in "Far Away" with Next Theatre, as well as Cougar Glass in “The Fastest Clock in the Universe” with A Red Orchid Theatre, all of which were Jeff Recommended.  He has also worked with Buffalo Theater Ensemble, Redmoon Theater Company, Writer’s Theater, Stage Left, Equity Library Theater, Borealis Theater Company, and The Riverside Theatre Shakespeare Festival.

For the past several years, he has concentrated on Film work. His more notable film credits include: Backburner Film’s Feature, "Say Hello To Clive For Me," which is currently making the Festival Circuit, Sphinx Productions short, “The Memoirs of Don Walker,” which has already received high acclaim at The New York Film and Video Festival, East Lansing Film Festival, and IndieFest here in Chicago, as well as “When the Smoke Clears” with Columbia Practicum Films, “Birth Control” with Genesis Films, and “Crime Fiction” with Fire Escape Films. He has also worked with Legit Productions, Focus Films, The London Film School, Legit Productions, and Squid Brothers Productions.

On the production side of things, he works with Backburner Films as a Producer and Writer, and produced several films with Carnegie Mellon Filmmakers.

His television credits include the role of Timothy McVeigh in "Conspiracy: Oklahoma City Bombing," and Billy Speed in "Sniper in the Tower," both for the History Channel.

You can catch him live onstage performing regularly with his Improv Team, Uncle Pecos, at IO Chicago.
