Christopher Markham
CHRISTOPHER MARKHAM portrays Officer Sedgie, one of the boys in blue at the crime scene.
Born and raised in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia, Christopher has a grounded, earthy element to his personality. It takes a lot to ruffle his feathers, a quality highly sought after in the often volatile entertainment industry. Warner Crocker, artistic director of Wayside Theatre, once referred to him as “a rock” on which he could rely for a “remarkable performance."
But that’s only part of what makes him such a desirable commodity. He exudes warmth and a genuine quirkiness that adds immensely to his approachability quotient. He has been described as “a ray of sunshine” and as having “a voice like a warm blanket.” Ask him and he’ll tell you, “Oh, yeah, I’m a total dork. But, you know, being a dork’s kind of cool. Kind of.”
Chris has been acting since he was 6 years old. “My mom got me involved in community theatre while I was in elementary school. It was a way to get me out of the house in the summer, and it stuck.” His first role was a muchkin in “TheWizard of Oz.” After winning multiple awards for his performances in high school, he switched gears and attended Virginia Tech, where he graduated with a Bachelor’s in Fisheries Science. Yes, that’s right, Fisheries Science. Ask him about it later.
Since moving to Chicago in 2000, he has worked steadily in the business, and looks forward to continuing and building on his career. So whether you need talent for your next film, play or commercial, remember- you can count on Chris.
