Cinematographer - Josh Gibson

JOSH GIBSON was the cinematographer for Night of the Fireflies.

This is what Josh has to say about himself:

My name is Josh Gibson and I am a freelance cinematographer and videographer based in Chicago.

In my hometown of Peoria, Illinois, I studied theatre and television production at Illinois Central College. After three years of working for a steel factory, I left my job to take a position at a local NBC affiliated television station. A year later, I moved to Chicago to study film and graduated with a BA in Cinematography from Columbia College Chicago. While at Columbia, I shot and directed dozens of student films and often worked as an assistant cameraman on larger productions. I also worked as a teacher's assistant teaching underclassmen about 16mm and 35mm motion picture cameras. Since graduation, I have worked as a Director of Photography on several shorts including Flicker (HD), Never (16mm) and Thicker Than Water (HDV). In addition, I do a lot of work in documentaries including The Colorado Plateau, Black Pine Animal Park and my current project, Beta. My story for Beta has gotten a lot of publicity worldwide - my footage has aired on NBC and CBS national news. I have been featured in Best Friends Magazine and Chicagoland Tails Magazine. I am always on the lookout for new projects and constantly developing my own - I am the creator of Green Films and co-founder of To the Moon Productions.

I am a vegan raw-foodist and I enjoy camping, biking, hiking, traveling and exploring. I'm also an avid photographer and have had my work displayed in galleries in Chicago.
